Are you psychic? 8 ways to tell

Every time I 'read' a new client, I look at their ability to get information intuitively aka psychically. Lately I've had a few who were quite psychic, but didn't know that, and were uncomfortable with it. All they knew was they knew or felt things that they weren't 'supposed' to know. At the end of our session, one of these clients said, 'thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy'.

So I thought I'd give you the most common ways people experience their psychic abilities, when they don't know the abilities are psychic abilities -- the things that make people think they're crazy.  Often people experience more than one, but it's rare for someone to have ALL of them. I'm listing them in the order of the chakras with which they're associated. For more on the chakras, go here.
  • I'm jumpy for 'no reason' - You might get psychic information in your first chakra, which is normally concerned with survival stuff (health, money, etc.). The problem is that when you're getting psychic information here, this information may not be about you. So when you feel nervous or jumpy, you have to ask yourself, "Is this even about me?" If the answer is yes, deal with it yourself. If the answer is no, then sit with it, and see if the information becomes more specific. If you can't get anything more specific, let it go and relax.
  • I can feel other people's feelings -This is a classic example of a wide open 2nd chakra. To some degree, we are all wired for this (using mirror neurons) and it is definitely stronger in some people than in others. For many, this is a good thing. But for some people, others' feelings hijack your own life. There are things you can do to stop this, but a written description won't suffice.
  • I can feel the energy of a place - This is similar to feeling others' feelings -- except no mirror neurons are involved. Back when I was opening up psychically, I attended a Sunday open house of a house that was for sale, on the recommendation of my realtor. Though the house had all the features I was looking for, I was so creeped out by the feeling of the place that I literally ran out in under 2 minutes. The next day, the realtor told me that the house was owned by a fugitive who was wanted for murder.
  • I have these internal arguments - And it's not just yes/no or should/shouldn't. There are multiple lines of argument from different points of view. I suggest that in this case, you are probably hearing your guides' points of view. There are things you can do to work with this, and turn it into an asset rather than an annoyance, but a written description won't suffice. This is a throat (5th) chakra ability.
  • I can hear other people's thoughts or or see other people's pictures - Have you ever had a thought, and then had it immediately contradicted by another? Many years ago, my (now ex) husband went out of town on a business trip while I moved house for us. The new place was closer to the airport than the old one. When I picked him up at SFO, he said he wanted to drive, which was fine with me. As we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, I pictured in my mind our new exit, and driving to our new home. Immediately afterwards, an image of the old exit came into my mind. I said, "No, we've moved, we're getting off at the Sausalito exit." To which he replied, "Thanks." (I was so sure that I'd seen his picture that I never even asked him. And I was right, because he wasn't even surprised when I corrected him.) My example is a third eye (6th chakra) one, but hearing others' thoughts is either throat chakra or crown (7th) chakra  ability.
  • I get images of the future, places I've never been, people I've never met - Classic clairvoyance (third eye)! The problem with these is that you don't know what the images are until later. It's important to remember these (even keep notes), so that when they show up in real life, you'll understand (a) that you 'saw' this stuff earlier and (b) learn what sorts of things/people/ places/events you tend to foresee.
  •  I 'just know' stuff - I 'just know' what someone else is thinking, or who's on the other end of the phone when I pick it up (and no, Caller ID doesn't count). Again, this is a crown chakra ability, which is direct mind to mind communication. When it's with a living human, it's called telepathy. When it's with a discarnate being, it's called channeling.
  • I have precognitive dreams -  This is often astral travel, which is sending your consciousness to other places and/or times. Sometimes (though this will feel completely different, and is not technically a dream), it's actually leaving your body to go to another point in space/time.
If you do any of these things, and want to learn more about your abilities and/or practice them in a safe setting, please send me an email. I'm thinking of doing my teleseminar series again, beginning in August. It will be twice a month, for about 1 1/4 hours/class, at 5:30PM PT. I am taking votes on whether Tuesdays or Thursdays are preferable. Please let me know which day you prefer.

Try This @ Home -- How Psychics Have Fun, Part 3

The West Coast Dowsers' Conference was wonderful! Not only did I get to change a few lives by teaching how to access intuition without tools, but I got to have fun. As one of the old time dowsers said from his podium, the dowsers, as a group, are the best psychics he ever met, they just don't necessarily want anyone to know that. So I got to hang out with lots of other psychics for a couple of days and learn some things, too.

One presentation was on orbs, which are energy phenomena that no one can exactly explain. (For more orb photos, see here.) Some theorize that they're angels, or devas, or extraterrestrials, or spirits of one sort or other, but no one really knows. (Yes, someone talked for 1 1/4 hours on orbs; where else but a dowsers' conference would that happen?) They seem to like good energy, including nature. They show up on digital photos quite easily, though only rarely on film. I learned that orbs' 'social distance' seems to preclude them from hanging out in rooms with standard 8' ceilings, and that they like to hang out in good energy if the ceilings are at least 12'. The room was a sort of bowl, with about a 16' ceiling at the bottom, where the presenter stood, so I aimed my camera at the ceiling and took a random shot. Guess what? if you look at the photo above, you'll see a clear orb at the top center, with a fainter one immediately to its right.

Another presentation was so much fun -- we got to use our minds to hold dimes to our foreheads (no spit, no tools, nothing, believe me). Try this yourself -- if you just put a dime on your forehead (without tilting your forehead back), it'll fall right off. Then try imagining your forehead as a giant magnet and see what happens. The photo at right is what happened for me.

Then we held spoons to our heads in the same manner. Yes, it works! You have to begin with your head tipped back a little, and concentrate a little more, but it does work.

Then we had a spoon bending party. The presenter handed us cheap spoons that she got from the cafeteria, and told us to put the bowl of the spoon against the fleshy part of our left hand. Then we were supposed to push on the handle and it would bend. Well, you can't just push and have it bend. However, if you run energy into the handle, it will twist with almost no pressure.

Almost everyone could do it. The woman next to me, who told me that she used to do it regularly, but had 'lost' the ability in the last few years did several full revolutions. At left is what my spoon looked like. Please note that this is not a 180 degree bend -- it is a 540 degree bend. See the loop at right?

Then I got to do something I have wanted to do since I was a teen. I got to be part of a group of five who took turns lifting each other with just 2 fingers each.  One sat in a chair. The other four each clasped our two hands together with our paired index fingers pointed forward. Two of us were stationed with our paired index fingers under the seated one's arm pits, one person on the right and one on the left. The other two were stationed with our paired fingers under the seated one's bent knees, one person on the right, and one on the left. When I was seated, they couldn't lift me -- until I thought of myself as being held up by a helium balloon. Then they lifted me a good 18 inches off the seat -- with just 2 fingers each! And I was the smallest person. Two of the guys easily topped 200 pounds, and we lifted all of them! For the last 2 people, I could actually see their energy bodies lift up above their physical bodies from what they were visualizing, and they they were quite easy to lift, where it had been impossible before.

And yes, you can try all of this at home! (Don't try the lifting if you have any physical issues.) It will help you develop your own psychic abilities. Let me know what happens.

Your Gift

YOU have psychic abilities, whether you acknowledge them or not. Ignore them at your peril. Maybe you'll see yourself in this:

Last weekend, I went to a holiday party, given by one of my clients, an acupuncturist. Because I'd helped her pass her acupuncture boards, which she'd failed 3 times before, she kept introducing me enthusiastically as a clairvoyant and coach. That meant that all of my conversations centered on things psychic, intuitive and/or spiritual (which was actually fun for me!).

The conversation that struck me most was with Joe, a many-degreed, successful high tech engineer. Joe has those bright blue eyes that evidence great intelligence, as well as an Atlantean past (if you don't believe in Atlantis, just ignore that part), complete with psychic ability. (I see this sometimes, but only in blue eyes; with other color eyes, it just isn't immediately obvious to me.)

Joe was curious, no, fascinated with my psychic abilities, because he said he didn't have any. I told him that we all have some degree of psychic ability, but that it comes in different ways; the most common is what people call 'gut feelings'. Joe admitted that he had those, and joked about providing 'psychic tech support'. But then he said that he couldn't trust them much, as evidenced by his horrendous people judgment, which led to horrible relationships, both romantic and business, which led to very expensive legal problems. I could see the activity in his third eye, and told him he was clairvoyant, whether he knew it or not.

As we talked, Joe complained of knowing things that other people didn't want to hear, telling them, and being ostracized for it. A classic psychic's complaint! The problem is not knowing what you know. The problem is not knowing what other people don't know, or don't want to know. The problem is in knowing how, when and to whom it is safe to disclose what you know.

Joe told of downloads into his mind of information, which he described as a 3 1/4" floppy being inserted into the left side of his head. This is classic telepathy!

It turned out that Joe had always had this telepathy, but had had so many bad experiences as a child, that he had turned off his ability to access the information he got through it. Ignoring his deepest level of information left him incredibly vulnerable to people who could and would callously take advantage of him.

Your psychic abilities are your gift, no matter what form they come in. They might come as gut feelings (clairsentience), pictures of things (clairvoyance), the still small voice within (clairaudience), downloads of information (telepathy/channeling), or smelling or tasting things that aren't there (clairolfaction or clairgustation). No matter -- they are your birthright. Would you willingly blind your physical vision? If you are ignoring your psychic abilities, you are doing effectively that -- and your life is much the poorer for it.

You can change that -- right now! You can resolve to notice what you notice, and know what you know, even if you don't know how you know it. No matter what your abilities, no matter how developed (or not), you can practice -- and practice makes perfect. (And if you are ready and willing to claim your psychic abilities, as well as how to talk about them, send me an email (use the box in the top right corner), and I'll let you know when I'm teaching another psychic development teleclass.)

Entangled Minds: Skeptic agrees that remote viewing is proven

Entangled Minds: Skeptic agrees that remote viewing is proven

For a scientist (whose work I admire and use) to argue that you need higher standards of proof for remote viewing than other areas of science is just absurd.

Ever made a bad decision, even though part of you knew better?

You know how it is -- you take a job, even though you have a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach. Or you get into a relationship, even though that still, small voice inside says, "No!" Or you say 'yes' to a project, even though a red light flashes internally.

It doesn't have to be that way! You can learn how to access your own intuition, your own psychic abilities, and test them in a low stress atmosphere, so that you learn to trust that feeling, that voice, that vision. It's easy, it's fun, and it's coming to a telephone near you.

I've been doing psychic readings as an expert intuitive for over 25 years. In that time, I've teased apart the building blocks of intuition. After you know what these building blocks are, you'll begin to identify what your special gifts are, and how they manifest for you. You'll also learn an undetectable method of using your hands to get information anywhere, any time, under any circumstance.

Once you know these things, you can practice -- the class provides safe opportunities to practice. You'll also learn how to practice on your own, so you can build the self confidence to trust your intuition when it really counts -- for the job offer, the relationship, the project.

The class meets twice a month for 5 months -- and the first month costs only $1!

To learn more, click here. Space is limited, so if you already know this is for you, call me now at 888-4-hollis to sign up.

On Psychic Etiquette

The human senses register millions of pieces of information every second, so many that we can't possibly process them all consciously -- and many of then we can't even process at an unconscious level. These bits of information, processed beneath the level of conscious awareness, constitute intuition or the psychic senses. (See Malcom Gladwell's "Blink" for a great discussion of this.)

You can choose where to focus your attention, however. And as you begin to open up psychically, you have to have guidelines for the responsible use of your abilities. Here are my rules for what is fair game (you can choose your own):
  1. Things that concern me.
  2. Things that other people ask me to look at that concern them.
For me, all else is off limits -- it is not clairvoyance, but clairvoyeurism, rather like being a psychic peeping Tom. If no one asks me to look, I don't look.

I do know some people have a lot of natural psychic or intuitive ability, and don't know how to manage it, and 'see' or feel stuff for other people all the time. These people (usually women) are so overwhelmed by the information that they get, that they either can't function, or shut the abilities down entirely. And often, before they shut down the abilities, they have the experience of telling someone something they saw, and being made wrong for having seen it.

Shutting down seems a shame to me, because we are given these gifts as a natural part of our existence, and not using what you have is like tying your dominant arm behind your back. Then you don't have your arm available for your own betterment or protection, and you don't have it available to help others who want to be helped. (If you are one of these people, I can help. Call me at 888-4-hollis.)

Develop Your Intuition -- it's fun AND convenient!

Everyone has intuitive abilities. No matter what level you’re starting from, you can develop your innate abilities and learn new skills. You'll learn easy-to-use techniques to access deeper level information and you'll get answers for yourself and others. You'll

* practice getting answers to everyday issues in your life and others' lives,
* learn to read people quickly and easily, and
* understand the deeper dynamics of interpersonal and business situations. .

This is a safe environment to explore your issues. You'll even make new friends, as you'll be trading readings.

This method is completely different from any other way of teaching the development of intuition; all other training teaches standard techniques, which may or may not work for you. Here, you'll identify your natural talents; then turn these talents into skills, using my unique method. This intuitive method does not use any sorts of external divination tools, like tarot or runes. This has several advantages:

· Your tools are always available, since there are none outside yourself.
· Your skill is subtle and can be used in any setting, with anyone, skeptic or not.
· Your skill enhances the use of any divination tools.

Here's what you can expect:

- A clear understanding of what psychic ability is
- Useful beliefs to enhance your intuition/psychic ability/clairvoyance
- An understanding of your own psychic/intuitive skills
- Practice with others in a safe space to get feedback about what works for you
- Knowledge of how to practice using your skills on your own

Who should attend:

Everyone!

It's for you if you're ready to see yourself, others and the world more clearly.

It’s for you if you have ever said something like, “I know there’s a message here, but I’m not quite getting it” or “I know I’m intuitive, but I can’t rely on it, because it isn’t always on.”

When:

* 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month, for 5 months (10 classes), beginning February 16
* 5:30PM - 6:30 PM
* All calls will be recorded, so you can listen in if you miss a class, or replay a class you feel you can get more out of by listening again (each class will have a meditation, so this is highly recommended!)

Improve your Intuition -- & Donate to Charity by Doing It!

Quick -- What does pondokkie mean? (Answer is at bottom.)

My latest obsession is www.freerice.com. It's actually a vocabulary builder, with a charitable twist. If you correctly define a word, someone donates 20 grains of rice through the UN world food program to end hunger.

There are 60 different vocabulary levels. You start at level 36, and when you answer a few questions correctly, you move up to the next higher level. Answer a few wrong, and you move down. Pretty simple. And surprisingly addicting!

I read a lot, so I have a pretty good vocabulary, and so far, my highest level is 52. At that level, I have neither seen nor heard many of these words. In fact, I suspect that a lot of them are not English words, because I know a few of them are French. And here's where the intuition comes in.

When you've never heard of a word before, sometimes you can figure it out by context, but here, there is no context. Sometimes, you can make an educated guess, because you've heard of a cognate, or at least one of its root syllables before. But when none of that works, as sometimes in life, all that is left is your intuition. So guess! The good news here is that there is very little downside, which makes it an ideal situation for practicing your intuition.

What I love about this is that it is like real life. You are asked to make a snap decision on a real world matter, for which you can sometimes use your intellect -- & sometimes not.

Notice how you guess: Does a little voice say something to you, like it does to me? Do you feel something when you look at the correct answer? Is the correct answer somehow brighter on the screen when you look at it? Then notice which guesses are right, and correlate the correct answer with how you got the answer.

How often is your intuition right? Are you going with your intuition? Or ignoring it? And if you're ignoring it, what stops you from going with it?

Answer: A pondokkie is a makeshift shelter.

A BIG Problem for Psychics

In case you are new to m blog, let me define clairvoyant (which literally means seeing clearly) as one who gets their psychic/intuitive information in pictures. Similarly, a clairsentient is one who gets his/her information in feelings. If you've ever had a 'gut feeling' about something that turned out to be right, you're clairsentient. Things are usually a bit more clear for clairaudients, who 'hear' their information -- but not always.

Probably the biggest problem for clairvoyants and clairsentients is the problem of translating the picture or feeling into useful data in the real world. Here's an example I'm pondering now:

On December 9, 2000, when the Supreme Court prevented a full count of the Florida Presidential vote, I was very upset, and asked my guides for some insight. They gave me 2:

1) They showed me the inside of a Roman galley. As I watched, a new slave master took over, and the slaves stopped rowing out of defiance.

2) I heard the words, "There will be a looting of the Federal Treasury on a scale never before seen in the history of the human race." I remember these words clearly and distinctly, despite my poor auditory memory.

Now for the problem -- interpretation. At the time, I interpreted (1) to mean a recession, and shortly thereafter, the dot-com bubble burst. And (2) reminded me of the Resolution Trust Corp., the entity that was set up to buy the assets of failed savings and loans in the late 1980's, so I thought it was financial, but wasn't really clear.

Then when $8.8 billion went missing in Iraq, I figured that was what (2) had meant, especially in light of the $1 billion/week price tag of the occupation.

But what if they were talking about the proposed bailout of the world's financial system by the US taxpayer (i.e. you and me)? What if (1) is about events still to come?

I only get answers to questions that are asked -- and I was so shocked by what I 'saw' and 'heard' that it never occurred to me to ask the follow up questions about what when. where & how! So be careful what you ask -- be as complete as you can!

Cyborgs Prove Telepathy Is Desirable

That headline is a little tongue in cheek, but here's what I mean:

When wireless headsets for cell phones were new, I began to see people having very animated conversations with... no one... on street corners all over the country. I thought perhaps we had a burgeoning epidemic of psychotics! And then I realized that they had these gadgets on, and they were using technology to talk to very real other people, who were not physically present.

Hmmm.... talking to beings that are not physically present... that reminds me of something... oh, right, telepathy. Telepathy is direct mind to mind communication with another physical being. (Mind to mind communication with a non-physical being is called channeling.)

Somehow, telepathy is the psychic ability that freaks people out, even when others, like clairvoyance, and even channeling, don't. I think everyone is afraid of other people really knowing what they think. Honestly, if everyone was telepathic, one of two things would happen. Either society would become very compassionate, because all people would instantly know other people's pain, or people would clean up their thoughts in a hurry! And since thoughts are things and influence physical reality, reality would get a lot nicer in either case. So if you're one of those people who is freaked out by telepathy, would you please just let that fear go? But I digress.

I don't know about you, but seeing odd metallic growths coming out of people's skulls just above their ears, makes me think of Star Trek. Didn't they call those part human, part machine beings, cyborgs?

Here's what I think. I think we all come from one consciousness, and in non-physical reality, we are telepathic. And part of us remembers this when we take on bodies, and that's why we feel so lonely here on earth, where it seems we are separate. So we all aspire to telepathy, even as we fear it. And we aspire to it so much that we resort to being cyborgs, wearing wireless ear pieces for our wireless phones to communicate with other very real beings.

One day, if each of us accepts our abilities, maybe we won't need the phones!
